  • Should I do the swap??

I found a complete LT-1 with A4 transmission with 55k miles for $1,600. Most LT-1 F-Bodies go for $6/7,000 where I live, with higher mileage. It would probably cost about $1k to have a shop install it right?

Is the difference great enough in buying a "new" car outright to have a swap done instead?

EDIT: Complete = ECM, Wiring Harness, All accessories, starter , exhaust manifolds, all sensors, all MAF stuff, oil pan, etc, etc.

There's more to it than just putting in an engine and trans. You're gonna need a lot more parts than that.

I know that, but that's why I asked for your infinite wisdom on the price. ;) I can do the search for the parts, swaps have been done before, I'm just wondering if "a lot more parts" are $4,000 worth.
