• Great power with Abbott Racing parts

Well, we took the 2000 Camaro down to the Dynojet yesterday. Our original bone stock test when we bought the car was 167 rwhp. We added full port and polished (and a few other Kenneth Abbbott recommended changes) heads, upper and lower intake manifolds and cam from Abbott Racing. The computer tune was not optimized yet by Jason at Texas Speed but was an version that put the stock car with their Rumbler catback system at around 190 rwhp with no other changes. The bolt on parts from Abbott Racing pumped the dyno rwhp up to 236! And bear in mind that the computer is not yet programmed for the new engine combination. We were happy to say the least. I'll give more information as we get the new computer tune back from Texas Speed (and kudos to these guys too..they've been extremely helpful and their turnaround on orders is lightening fast). If anyone is considering pumping their V6 to the higher numbers via NA, you can't go wrong with the Abbott Racing setup....and, again, the customer service is exemplary. For a one weekend project to install the parts we've got a screaming car and I can't wait for the extra horsepower from the correct dyno tune. Even now this engine pulls so strong and over a broad power band (4000 rpm to 6000 rmp is pure acceleration)that it's like my old Z28. I came across Abbott Racing on this board from posts similar to mine and wanting the best quality opted for their engineered cam/intake/heads setup. I heartily recommend them to anyone here. Richard

Glad you're happy with the setup Richard! Very impressive numbers, especially through exhaust manifolds!

Total cost of parts including the full Abbott Racing heads, manifold, cam, misc pieces etc including gasket sets and so on ran around $3000 including the Texas Speed Rumbler cat back. And yes, we're running the stock 2000 up "tubular" stock exhaust manifolds. You can call Kenneth Abbott and get the exact cam and head specs they built to...all I can say is the workmanship was impeccable as was the service...the dyno speaks for the results...and I can't wait to get the computer properly tuned to the combo...I'm hoping for over 250 rwhp...stay tuned...

Well i should get my stage 3 heads from super six in about a week or so and i will let you know my numbers. i am running the intense stg 2 n/a cam, comp cam oe-r lifters, intense lightwieght pushrods , port and polished upper and lower manifolds, i have a single rollermaster roller timing chain, hp tuners, 3000 rpm stall with shift kit, and 3.73's with lsd. hopefully i can put down a pretty good number.

well what would be a good start with abbott parts considering i have a catback but cant afford to blow 2500 on everything else.

Spend the money on other stuff needed first. Then save up and go internal later.

Matt's right...these cars are really two step if you're on a budget for power...first step is CAI, Whisper lid, K&N filter, high flow cat, 3" catback Rumbler system, Texas Speed dyno tune...all this will cost you around $650-$700 installed and will yield around 190 rwhp on a 2000 up. Second phase is the full Abbott Racing treatment..cam, manifolds, heads, etc...do it all at once; anything else is a waste...save the money, set a goal, execute, go fast! Richard

well i have whisper lid, K&N, and 3 inch Loudmouth so im on my way. Im not on a tight budget just need to save up a little. I guess my next mod will be a high flow cat. What would roughly be the cost of the "Abbott Racing treatment" for parts and labor. I apreciate your help guys.

I paid $2000 for my heads/cam installed myself. Add another $800-$1000 or so for an install.

Its not a "bad" deal, but its still a little pricey, but then again, I am cheap.
