Chris where were the jack stands?
Tranny/engine jack?
You're lucky dude. I know people who died being crushed under a car. Its bad enough to be in a hobby that it can happen - when you actually know someone or see it happen its awakens you to the fact that nothing should compromise safety.
I let it slip once, trying to remove the rear axle off a truck. The truck came down on my buddy and I. We re-jacked the truck in the same manner, tried again and it happened a second time. My some miracle we were both spared. Never again.
Getting cut up is okay, that's part of the job, and why I wear mechanics gloves when I can now. But having something drop or fall on you is a safety breech. Should never happen.
I am genuinely glad you are otherwise okay.
