true.
but an ls1 = easy *** cam swaps in 2 hrs or less.
just take the pushrods off. rotate the assembly lifters lock into place pull the front of the block off. pull the cam put the new one in. put the push rods back in. put the front of the engine back together. fire it up. Wala.
So the update... there was a bent pushrod, so we replaced it and we replaced all the lifters. We had a guy come over a take a look at it and hes the one whos been helping us (also the guy who put in my new tranny). He suggested the lifters, so I paid about $100 for parts. I havn't got a chance to start it yet, I need to finish putting it back together tomorrow and I'll let you know how it goes.

Well it looks like I was wrong. We got everything put back together and at first everything sounded very good. However, as time went on we noticed a similar sound. The difference this time is that it seems to be coming from the bottom end of the engine. I honestly have no idea what to think, but both my dad and our mechanic friend think it has something to do with a bearing. The mechanic also said something about the timing chain, but I can't exactly remember what.
