  • Granatelli fuel pump?

I am looking at getting the granatelli walbro fuel pump because my fuel pump is going bad and I can get it new for 109.99. I was wondering if the wiring will just plug right into our plug harness or will I have to splice into wires and such?

Also do you guys reuse the bucket with them or just ziptie it onto the metal bracket? I tried putting a used walbro in earlier in my car (I think that is why this stocker is going bad now, lol) but the wires where spliced and different and I didnt know about the bucket and the sleeve filter.

PLMK what you guys did with your kits or what you recommend. Thanks!!!

looks like from searching some more that most of you are ditching the bucket completely. I might just go that route. But yea let me know about the wiring and any other bucket ideas/comments

I installed a walbro 255 which was plug and play. I ditched the bucket and hose clamped the pump to the bracket. I also used a piece of hard rubber in between the pump and the bracket to make in sit better.Works great, good luck. Also the seal for the tank is different in the kit, but you should be able to reuse the old one.

The granatelli pump is very plug and play. It as has a harness to plug into the stock wiring. I ditched the bucket, also and hose clamped it to the bracket. Works perfect. Can't beat it for the price, compared to stock.

supposedly you just need to trim the inside of the bucket a bit so that the pump will fit and then you need to glue the bucket back together.

Question: the pump bucket is there so that the pump does not dry out when the tank is low and the car is cornering (?) Has anyone noticed any problems when they ditched the pump bucket?

If all of you are 'problem free' I would like to know. This seems to be the most common question regarding swapping in the wahlbro. Thanks. G

yea it seems like there would be more people with problems when fuel is low and they go around sharp corners (MI u-turns). Let us know what the scoop is, my pump should be here in a week.

I have not noticied any fuel starvation problems, going around corners on low fuel. I see what your talking about, but if your that concerened just don't run it below one eighth of a tank.

I got a brand new walbro 255 on Ebay for $99.00 shipped. Just search on Ebay for walbro fuel pumps.
