Ok I am new here and wanted to ask everyone if it would be worth having a 3.4L auto with intake ,exhaust , headers , Racing chip , 3.42 gears with Limited slip Diff , with P&P heads with 3 angle valve job , P&P intakes upper and lower , Regrind Cam with 1.6 roller rockers, and A reprogramed computer . Would I be able to take out cars like GT stangs, VR6 GTi's , The new Mazda 6 , RSX type S , Integra Type R's , Ect. I have people at work challenging my 3.4 and wanted to surprise them . I dont tell people what I have under the hood and would like to show em up . So Give me some opinions . Thanks you

Yeah, you would be able to take out GT Stangs, etc. (depends on the Mustang: year, mods, etc.) I'd say with all those mods you might have a naturally aspirated 14-second car. Just make sure you take your time and do everything right, especially with the engine work. Those mods (assuming it runs right) puts you in the same league with Integra Type-Rs, RSX Type S's, etc. as well.
you might want 3.73s as opposed to 3.42s if you're going that hardcore with it.

When I start the internal work im going to be taking it to a machine shop to have every thing done internally . What should I tell the guy thats doing the work? Im thinking of just telling him to take his time and have every thing done right and try to get as much power out of the little 3.4 as possible . The guy that is going to be doing my car told me it would probly take about 2 weeks to have all the internal work done . Im gonna tell him to take his time . He only works on camaros so thats good.

Sorry to butt in on the thread but... ;)
I'm glad to see some places are listing aftermarket internals for the 3.4's. The last time I looked in to building up my Camaro it was rare to find places that kept them in stock. I checked out the place that viper98885 runs and found quite a few useful items on there. I just don't know if I can justify pumping $2,500+ in to the 3.4 and be lucky to net 250hp @ the fly. Does anyone offer a forged crank for the 3.4's? If I went for a rebuild then I'd prefer to go all forged internals unless the stock crank is strong like the LT1's are?
I'd like to get with one of you guys that run a performance shop to see what kind of deal you can offer me on a complete rebuild package w/ custom grind cam. Just to satisfy my curiosty

just fyi for everyone: the 3.4L Crankshaft is made out of Nodular Cast Iron - just like the LT1 and LT4.

The guy thats doing the internal work to my car is gonna pull my engine and take the parts from my engine like the cam , upper and lower intakes , and heads and do custom work to them.Oh, and I have been reading old post that people were saying that the 3.4L could get 260 - 280 HP with all those mods plus a racing chip and computer tuning.

the lower end is fairly stout on the 3.4, the only weak part is the stock pistons, and tiagos seam to be holding up good even under boost.
My 3.4 should be one bad mo-fo if I ever get it back together......

Im doing it all at once.Im reprograming my computer also and having my Rksport leaky headers fixed for good .Ive got the Jet stage 2 chip , should the jet chip give me some good HP numbers you think? Hey Wolf , do you think my car would be a beast after its done with and all the mods I have?2002 Grand Prix GTP- FWI Intake , flowmaster 40\'s ,3.4 pulley , and Intense racing PCM.
94 3.4L camaro -Lots of mods!

should run pretty good.... the stock cam is one of the main things that holds the 3.4 back, I'm guessing your cars auto? if so I'd get a torque converter that matches your cam, I'd also try and rasie the compression ratio on your motor a bitWolf
95 black t-top camaro,3.4 5 speed,ud pullies,plugs/wires,de-shaft tb & gutted airbox, homemaid short throw shifter
