  • Prepping for GT cam

I'm making out my shopping list for valvetrain parts to install while I'm saving the cash for the ZZP GT cam. And yes, I've been searching, but most of the lists I've found were for those who were doing a Comp cam. So far, this is what I've come up with for the GT cam:

Comp 105 # springs from ZZP
    Retainers (ZZP or Comp steel)
    Lifters (Comp 850-12)
    Pushrods (Comp Hi-Tech)
    Comp valve locks from ZZP
    ZZP valve seals
    Valve cover gaskets

    Am I forgetting anything??

you should also get new upper and lower intake manifold gaskets. and if you choose to take off your throttle body you need a gasket for it too

I'd keep the lifters stock but that's just me.

I guess I could get new stock ones then. I'll probably replace them either way while I'm in there since my car has about 118K on it.

may i ask y? the comp "OE" lifters are a great up grade for us,

personally i have th "OER" but i didn't install them. but i think the OE lifters would be a great upgrade for a new cam, and OER if you going to the 130 pound spring with a big cam.
