• LT1 MOTORSWAP in my '98 Almost complete

Well for those of you who didnt know I am putting in a '94 z28 LT1 into my '98 Camaro 3.8. It has been a bunch of work getting it in there but its almost done. I will reply with details soon as its complete. Could be a few days, I dont have access to a computer every day anymore.

I have a '94 Lt1 with a 96 PCM so that it is still OBD2. I have also purchased some JET Hot Longtubes and a AZ Speed/marine CAI. Just giving it the finishing touches now.

By the way, this has costed me a boat load of money. Had I known it would have been this expensive from the start there is no way I would have gone through with it. But Im in to deep to turn back now.

Be back in a few days with details and pics.

Good luck with the install! Are you going to do a write up on all of it like you did with the cam? :D

Good thing is you will be able to have many upgrade options with an LT1.

how much is it costing ya so far? the only reason i went with my swap was cause i got the LS1/tranny/everything for $3100. i expect to pay a pretty penny for the install, and i will post how much that is when it is all done. i wouldnt be surprised if i paid 2 large for the whole installation. as a matter of fact i am expecting a $2000 bill from my mechanic.

So I just feel the need to ask the question...

Which is harder, LT1 into 98+ or LS1 into 93-97?

I'd say they are equally as difficult.. Both need to be rewired completely.

my 2000 LS1 is replacing my 2000 L36. with $3100 in tacreations hands, all i needed afterwards was to get the radiator tank fixed (the tank was supplied), a k member, a gauge cluster, and a gas pedal.

How complex is it to wire/switch the v8 speedo from our v6 speedo? and also for everything else (wiring, tubes, etc.)

You just swap gauge clusters for the speedo, its cake.

LT1 cross member i purchased is bogus. I tried to install it and the bolt holes dont even line up. looks like its been in a bad wreck or something. its tweaked beyond repair. so I just purchased a PA RACING tubular k member. should be here in a few days. this is my only hold up.

Preston, are you going to have to swap your tranny too? I'm thinking if anyone has a 5spd like me, then you will need a new tranny or an adapter plate and a beefed up tranny.
