i got a 96 bird and i know i need a 97 pcm to get the tuning done. can it be reprogrammed for future upgrades or does it all need to be done at once. also when would it turn on the fans? what all would be involved with switching over to a 97 pcm? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

bad news- the 96 bird is gone<br />good news- a 95 trans am replaced it:lt4 cam and heads,msd,hooker headers,3inch flowmaster,cold air induction,and some laughin gas! -
It is a direct bolt-on replacement, no wiring changes needed. We can have the flash done here for $75 or you can have it all done by your GM dealership. So you can flash the 96 computer to 97 or are you talking about flashing the 97 computer?
I was wanting to talk to you about this exact same thing cause I have a 96 computer with the 96 3.8L and I want tuning done too.

You CANNOT flash the '96 to become a '97.
