  • Are 98 V6 Fuel Tanks the same as LS1 Fuel Tanks?

I am gonna do a fuel pump swap on a 98 3800 I am gonna cut to get to the pump instead of dropping the tank. Is it in the same location as newer LS1s?

99+ have plastic tanks with different fuel setups.
      98- have metal tanks

V6 and V8 use the same style for the same year.

some location, but different pump assemblies, wiring harness, housing, etc. etc.

Its really not that hard to drop 99+ tanks.

97's do take some finess because you have to bend the arm. I would never want to cut a hole in that pannel though. :(

I agree...I would suggest dropping the tank. It's not all that hard.

I agree don't cut it. Its hard, but not that hard, and you only need to do it once.
