My 3.4 is getting to be on its last leg. I was wondering if a crate short block from Summit, like a 427 small block, would fit in, I know I would have to change trans & other parts, but would it bolt up to the engine bay?

One problem you'll have if you get it to fit is changing the distributor cap/rotor or changing plug wires without pulling the engine due to those pieces being covered by the cowl. Unless of course you butcher the cowling.
You could always put a F*rd block in it since those components are in the front! :eek: ;) [img]graemlins/rofl.gif[/img]

If chevy can put a 572 in a 2000 camaro a 427 shouldn't be that hard. It would be nice to have one of those Lingenfelter LS1 427 motors. 7 liter+500hp+530ft/lb= [img]graemlins/burnout.gif[/img]1994 Chevrolet Camaro 3.4L A4 (160hp 200tq)<br />2006 Nissan 350Z 3.5L M6 (300hp 260tq)

Those Lingenfelter motors are hot. I saw a Z06 with a 427 conversion and it ran 9's2000 Firebird. Whisper Lid, True duals, TSP mail order tune, Built Tranny , TCI 2800 stall verter, B&M tranny cooler, Eaton LSD, 3.42 gears. It should fit pretty easily, as long as you are talking about a 427 small block and not a 427 big block. You having a ’94 would make the big block swap a little easier but it is still work.
Now if you are talking a small block you need to find out which generation short block it is. So you can start putting your heads/intake/ignition together.
Build it like an LS1 or even an LT1 and you have no problem at all with the cowl.
Why not just get an older LT1 and have it built? You could do a pretty affordable 406 that would be fairly streetable.I have made a lot of money in my life, most of which I spent on cars and women.<p>The rest I have blown.

A 350 Chev does not have to have a distributor, and there are several shapes and sizes of distributors to choose from if you did use one.
Anyway, John Moss, and a few others like Meeny with his 422ci big block quad turbo fit in between the fenders of a 4th gen.
It will fit. Just a matter if it'd be more economical than putting in an LS1.
