  • Ls1 swap to be or not to be?

I know where a ls1 ws6 trans am is that is wrecked, with only 57k the car will crank right up the guy only wants around 2 grand for the car complete powertrain. How hard would it be to swap a ls1 into a v6 would there be a lot of stuff you would have to buy even if u had a complete car to part off of. Would u have to rerun all the dash wires for ur gauges and windows and stuff, or can u just like switch computers and it will still run the everything. I knwo i would need new motor mounts is that all what about the drive shaft and transmission i have an at and the car is a at could i use my transmission or would i have to switch, what about the rear end, any advice would help please!!

do a search most, if not all your answer ca be found on this sight. your biggest advantage in this swap would be having the donor car right beside the yours.

If the cars are the same year, it's a lot easier. No dash wiring changes are needed. You can probably even put a 99+ in a 99+ without any wiring issues. The 98's stand alone though...

If you have a donor car there should not be much you need to buy!!
