I have a 3.4 SFI engine in my camaro.....Wandering what cam would be the best to install and how much spray is ok to use on stock internals other than a cam and if 3.42 gear ratio would be a good choice.....
What all needs to be changed when swapping the cam.....
Should I run nitrous wet or dry?
Also will I have to change my carrier on my rear end if I upgrade the gear.
A cam with a decent idle would be good to install, so you dont have to mess with changing your valvesprings. I have actually got one for sale. It is new in box and here is the link:
Very good cam. About nitrous, I dont know too much about it, first do some searches around the nitrous section. As for the gear... I personally think that is a great gear. It is the gear I have in my car. Now 5-speeds can benefit greatly from a 3.73 gear. Anyways, welcome to the boards hope this helps some, let me know about the cam. ;)
I don't think the V6 camaro will need a rear end up grade other than new gears and a posi or lsd.
A good cam would be the crane 2-272-H cam and some roller rockers. Like ctane gold roller rockers. You will have to change the lifters (get new ones).
Or you could get a crane mechanical cam, crane makes 2 of them the big one is not for street use but the smaller one is bad @$$.
You will need Kmotion K-700 springs and crane forged +.050'' 11/32'' valve locks.
I have most of this stuff on my car domain site in the sig. It's a 3.4L build.
You might realy want to think about a high vol oil pump with high pressure spring.
I would recomend a wet system on the 3.4L (also working on that on the cardomin site.
