Coolant in oil? Very milky? probably bad head gasket.
Low oil psi is not good. Could be causing many or your problems. Engine with low oil PSI = engine gonna die.
I have to agree with this. If the same pushrod bent again it has to be something specific to that cylinder. Was the pushrod that bent from the intake or exhaust?
It's the front one (dang I can't remember right now, office mentality).
The coolant could be because I didn't tighten all the timing cover bolts tight enough. I'm gonna check them as soon as I get back into the garage. (I guess I'm hopeful of that).
Car isn't smoking, that's the thing that gets me.
Now ... I still have this low oil pressure thing, which means the pushrod is a symptom, not the problem ... which means the motor still has to come apart.
Replaced: Oil sending unit, oil pump, pushrod #2, timing cover. ... I'm out of external things to swap as far as I know.
My help has more experience than I do and is hell-bent on not pulling this motor. So an in-bay tear down is short to commense.
I need a full team to support this stupid 14-second car.
I'd say coolant in oil = bearing failure.
Failed bearing = low oil pressure.
If I had to guess.
Off the top of my head, I think the drivers front valve is exhaust, and the passenger is intake.
Pushrod #2, does that mean the second one back on the drivers side?
1997 Chevrolet Camaro v6 - 13.8@104MPH
1997 Dodge Viper GTS
First one back on the passenger-side ... I could be refering to it as the wrong cylinder... again, I can't remember right now. lol
So, it's the first pushrood on the passengerside of the motor.
The oil in the coolant thing is recent ... started after I changed the oil pump. Anyway ... with my experienced help (a good friend of Stefan's), we're gonna tear the thing down ... replace a lot of stuff and put it back together.
I'm just afraid it's gonna cost more to put it back together than to replace it ... and probably won't fix the problem.

its like 400 times faster to pull the motor and tear it down the accories are not hard to get off at all, 2 bolts for PS, 3 for AC, 3 for ALT, 2 for tensoiner and like TQ arm exust and tranny mount, then pull the radatior (not hard at al take off top cover it will fall out lol, and PS resavoir. if i had to do it again i bet i could have the motor ready to plull in like 3 hours.oh and fuel rail and upper in take, not hard at all. once the crap out of the way.
1 to tear down in bay you going to have to remove allmost everything but the ac and you will save alol of hands, you gonna have to to radatior so you can get you hands in the back, the GM dumb motor lifts hang over vaule covers (i didnt put these back on,
2. is something is that baddly worng your gonna have to pull it any way... i would say pull it and save the back pain..... of leaning over the fenders
#2 is the first one on the pass side and its the 2nd rod one back? i think thats the exuast with out looking at heads im shur that the exuast.
EDIT:WOW BIG LIGHT BULB lol
have you change the oil PSI regulator? and spring ??????????????????????????????
to bend push rods:
vavle that not lifting.
vavle sticking open (you would know though) lol
vavle not seating or the seat is gone
for some reason you spring got like really really strong lol
the cam lobe has a something wierd with it......
that all i can think of
wow...i wish i had the skill to pull apart my engine...i have some sort of power loss with the SC hooked up...only i dont know what cuz i dont get a sound..the car runs smooth...nothing...all i know is its slower...so i have no idea lol

It's the 1st rod on the 1st cylinder on the passenger side. So that would be intake?
I replaced the regulator valve - that stupid $3 cap ... I think it was $3.
On a good note: AC's already gone ... Radiator's easy to pull ... and once you take a bunch of stuff off the motor, it's probably easier to pull. ;)
Side note: Did I mention I need the car running by the first? (I've given up on making the last race in my home town ... some day I'll make that. :( )
ya know....its possible it could be belt slip...especially since i put enough torque to the thing to snap the stand off bracket lol ...my 9 lb. pulley is painted in such a way so that the belt is not supposed to slip...but i dont have it on yet

when you get the stuff off the front and the hood off, your like yep it will come out EASY

So my truck is finally getting some work done, after 17 years, Oil pressure sensor went out and it’s located under the lower intake manifold. Have to...
