all motor 3800's have potential.. get a good cam and tuning and the zzp/intense stroker kit thrown in some head work and you could see some good numbers..

HOWEVER (here comes the kicker) if you EVER want to run a really big high reving cam.. well.. you cant.. not unless you go with a standalone computer system..

i figured this out after i looked at the absolutle limits of our pcms.. we are pretty much suck at 6.5K rmps.. thats nothing.. its almost pathtic.. all the big ls1 cams run up to 7K or higher.. so.. in that respect you are kidna funked.. without a standalone system.. you would have a hell of a time breaking 350 RWhp IMHO 350 is good.. but.. not FI good..

so.. it really all depends on where you will be happy.. IMHO get a cam with the intention of either spraying or forced induction..

dont know how you got that but my revlimiter is at 7200 RPM

right.. sure you can dump the limiter that high.. however..

look at all the tables.. they are only up to 6400 or someting like that.. so above that tuning becomes a huge issue.. you could still make it work.. but not well.. yeah dig it? expecialy on a maxed out NA motor.. gota keep it in context..

you cant add to the table or space them out a bit more?

not unless you really know waht you are doing and can directly edit the cars OS and then decode the bin..

Simple solution...

3500 = LS1 with tranny and PCM. Sell the V6 for mods for the LS1 and go faster then you will in your V6. [img]smile.gif[/img]

yeah just supercharge it...or get an LS1...by the way..when i was at the track this past weekend 3 guys ran 8s! ...it was intense

or better yet...supercharge an LS1 ...thats what im doing if i dont get times that im happy with on my car with the powerdyne/NOS ...buying an SS and taking the powerdyne/NOS with me

id get an LS1 ina second, but as long as i lie with my parents my fatherwont allow me to get it. mostly cause of the insurance factor, so i figure ill rebuild a sweet 3800 v6 and sell it for like 7 grand, but until then i want the most outa my motor, so if i was to do heads and cam, what exact specs would u guys suggest??

yea but if your insurance found out you have an 8 in there like if your in an accident or something, they most likely will rape you up the butt with charges.

Malice i think you would be more impressed with your motor if you had a larger cam. The cam you are running is very mild and it would be hard for any engine to make power with. Specially your "Super Motor". I think with a stout cam you could get a lot more power.

I think you are right. Furycharger should do a wicked heads/cam setup just to prove me wrong. With that much money, he could get it done right.
