use the bellhousing from the 3.8L V6 with the new engine. When swapping the tranny, you will swap only the transmission unit, not the bellhousing. The tranny will bolt right up to both bellhousings. When you change bellhousings, you will also have to change clutches and hydraulics.

'cuase the 3.4 uses a slave cylinder and pull arm, and the 3.8 use a hydralic throwout bearing like the ls1, right?

THis is a pic of teh 4L60E in the back, & 3800 engine brackets attached to the 2.8 motor mounts. When I dropped the 3.4 in, all I had to do was take off the 3.4 brackets (as they were too lonf) and put on the 2.8 brackets. The 3800 brackets are significantly longer than the 3.4 brackets. I had custom brackets made so that I didn't have to move my mounts (which is a mega ROYAL pain on third gens)

if it has clearance( or if you can make it have clearance) for the starter it should, but that tranny may not work right after being flooded

oh yea, I donno if anyone said it, but the 3.8 guages are needed too, the 3.8 has a different oil psi range than the 3.4

Is their really??? I know the 2.8/3.1 erl gauges go up to 80psi. Does the 3800 go any higher????

the V8s go up to 60psi

My main concern is the tach and the speedometer being correct i might get a little off reading on the oil but i would be able to see if it's low or really to high. Do you guys with 3.8 max out your oil pressure gauge?

the tach should be just.
speedo should be fine also, also the VSS pulses are the same for the 3rd gen VSS cars & the 4th gen 3800s. 4000 I believe.

oil psi being 100 or 120..that seems a sheesh load high to me. I don't think my GP has that range, but then I caint remember if it een has the erl pressure gauge

Hmm...well i think I'll invest in a secondary oil pressure gauge if that's the case...and I hope my bell housing comes off.

That's for the oil pressure I assume?

I was gonna get the thing in first to see if it was an issue, but that removes any doubt.
