Using the bin file I found here, http://www.horist.com/hptuner/ , I programmed a friends 96 camaro with 97pcm. Yesterday I went with him and dynoed and he saw a gain of 12rwhp from that basic tune on a intake exhaust car.
Don't no if this belongs in advanced tech, but it is pcm related and I figured you guys would be interested in the gains. (He also switched to 93 octane gas over the 87)

I downloaded the file as well a while back and it is just a "basic" tune. I beleive a lot higher HP numbers will be reached. Not only on a N/A car, but FI as well.
So your saying it would be better to have someone write it out and then send it to you. Then all you would have to do is write your own file, putting in the numbers they have sent to you. I'm asking this because I have no idea how to tune. I should be getting the Hptuner software at the end of the month. I hope to have a better understanding of how it works after seeing it.

You need to make sure the operating system #'s match up.
There is a file on horist' site.. done by a "friend" of mine. It's a basic tune for a 4.10 car w/exhaust. The car is a tank though and runs on 87 octane so "my friend" couldn't do much with the timing..
Make sure that files operating system is the same # as the one on your PCM.

1. You guys are downloading other files and just straight uploading them to your PCMs?
2. You believe someones file is going to work on 'your' car cause it did on their car? And also believe the skills of the file owner?
I can't speak for T, but I downloaded the file and compared it to my stock tune, corrected for my gears and such, and changed some parameters in my file compared to the one I downloaded, I DID NOT upload the downloaded file to my PCM, I used my stock .bin and edited it accordingly.
well I just order the software ,so well see how it goes.
