  • Block Filler

Ok guys, I need to get some block filler, problem is, I have no clue how to put this stuff in. Already been looking at Hardblok, I think that is the stuff I am going with. I am just not real sure where to fill up to, or how much I should use. Another good question would be how much water does the bare block itself actually hold?

The reason why I am doing this is because of vibrations/strength. With the removal of the balancer, the engine will be a bit too shaky for my liking, especially for the power I plan on acquiring, and it is either put block filler in ($60) or have sleeves installed ($2500+ custom job by Darton). I am sure that no one has tried doing this with a 3.8l, but maybe there are a few mechanics here that might have done it with a V8 small or big block engine. Any info would be appreciated.

    Thanks

We've used it in a few engines we've built but they were strictly race engines.

I don't recommend it for street use because the cylinders will get really hot since no water can get down to the bottom. I'd suggest trying to find a way to run a balancer. Its just going to vibrate itself apart without it, literally.

Won't be driven on the street.... ;)

So now, back to the question, Wicked, you know how to "install" filler?

BTW, I meant balancer shaft, not harmonic balancer.
