What is your problem with him having Lambo in his name?? He likes Lamborghinis...so what if he doesn't own one, he never claimed he did.

Play nice...I really don't want to have to start editing or locking posts.

ehh for the newer one it would be a driver race since they have the M6.... also it takes a second for the V10 to get moving so on the street i have the advantage...

from the, 92-99 if its stock, i should be able to take it no problem

Hey bill you mentioned the comment about the cast iron heads what if I was to put Gen III aluminum heads and a better breathing plenum from say a 2000+ Grand Am GT. Wouldn't that fix that problem?

Yes - the 3.4 bottom end is pretty rugged but the heads don't flow. The Gen 3 alloy heads DO flow - much better - but there is very little available in the aftermarket for them so far - partly because they are relatively new and partly because they come mostly on minivans that no one wants to tune for power. Still, a better starting point.

I am finishing the build on my current 3.4 right now (it is going into an MG, hence the engraved plenum) MG 3.4

I still like one of my other engines better though ;) My Lamborghini

MG?? So by putting Gen 3 Aluminum heads and the plenum from the same car I would get a lighter engine that flows better and weighs less. Would that be a good precursor for a turbo??

Yup - a 3.4 is much more fun in a 2000 lb. car

Yes, a Gen 3 top end would be a better starting point for a turbo, although I was able to get just on 300 BHP out of a 3.2 cast iron head 3.2 that way. We figure you can easily get 325 BHP with cast iron heads and with an alloy head engine that should increase into the high 300 range.

Best of all of course (allthough with an added weight penalty) is the 3.4 TDC engine - put 10 PSI into a dead stock engine and you get about 325 BHP. Boost a properly prepared engine and you take it up from there.

BTW, these guys talking about 1000 BHP on the street from these engines are severely mentally challenged - ain't going to happen.

If you want to turbo the alloy head engine, you might want to talk to Kevin Leslie about a modified kit. He is pretty taken with North Star conversions to Fieros these days, but still sells and supports the original turbo kit that IRM pioneered. There are others out there with lower prices, but frankly Kevin's is bullet-proof. I started with one of his kits and modified my engine from there and it now has over 200 K km. on it.....with 13 PSI boost.

With the Gen 3 heads you start out 25 BHP to the good before tuning or turboing.
