  • Timing question...

So I was wondering something about timing. I understand the concept of WOT timing and octanes and detonation, etc...

but I was wondering on low end part thottle timing, can you get wilder then you do with WOT timing?

like say very light throttle like 25% TPS, and under 3000 rpms, can the timing be bumped up in these ranges more so then under WOT since there are less revs there is less heat, so less chance of detonation?

just trying to see if with tuning i can get low rpms a little more power so I use less gas accelerating from lights, and shifting under 3k.

The whole table is set up for fuel consumption, so what you've got in the lower RPMs is about the best you'll get for mileage.

i ahve play with the timing a bit..... my car is harder cause the turbo starts pushing air and vac goes away

i would add timing 2* at a time and scan and see how you like it/it looks

yeha I was just hoping I could avoid doing it the "hard way" and see if I coudl bump it a bit down low.

As for how the table is setup in factory tune... ehh... I lost confidence in it after seeing huge spikes and my injectors maxing out.

someone on hptuners.com/forums told me that
LS1s have the most power @ WOT at only 17*.
I dont think I believe that though
