  • 160 thermo question

I was thinking about changing out my 180 thermo to a 160. What will this do as far as codes, SES codes...ect? And how would you go about putting a 160 thermo in WITH OUT any codes?

On my '02 it threw a coolant thermostat code with caused the temp gauge not to work and the fans to run continuously. Your options are buying HPTuners, getting a mail order tune, or finding someone closeby who'll delete the code for you. I'd do it for you, but you'd have to drive to Jersey or wait until I come out to the auto show next January.

I tried one in mine and never got a code, but it took forever to heat up and killed my gas mileage, so I went back to the 180.
