  • 3.4 to LT1

I searched on this but didn'f find exactly what I wanted. I found this site:

    TransAm Creations

This has a lot in the complete package. But what I think is missing is the radiator, cooling fans, k-member, crossmember, motor mounts, tranny mounts, driveline components, and gauge cluster. Is there anything else? Also is it pretty straightforth? My concern is the wiring...I hate wires

Ok, I know this has been covered a million times but i will tell you what i know. I swapped a 3.8 to LT1 in my '98 Camaro so heres what I know.

    You will need the following:
    Complete Engine
    Trans
all wiring harness from the engine bay including PCM
    Radiator
    K member

you also need to modify the fuel lines coming into the engine bay so they fit the LT1 fuel rail. And also upgrade your fuel pump

    Gauge cluster and pin set.

Everything will bolt up just fine. The hardest part is going to be the wiring. If your not firmiliar with this then its best have somebody do it for you.

I also want to note my Camaro went from 3.8 to LT1 and it currently does not run. After spending thousands on the motor swap i have lost all ambition to get it going for now. Hopefully when i have more time and money i can finish the nice project. But i just wanted to let you know this is not an easy task.

Its been so long sense i worked on the car i know there is more involved in the swap. If you have any specific questions about the swap let me know.

Oh yes and you will need motor mounts with your new k member, and replace your trans mount. And prefurably a 1 pice driveshaft. Im not sure if the v6 2 piece will work or not because i swapped mine.

well i figure going from a 3.4 to lt1 might be easier...the lt1 was made for the 95s so it might be less difficult...i hope

It might be a lil easier on the wiring end of things. Because the LT1 was an option in '95. Try to get the same year engine and pcm so its easier to mate up to your car.
