Does it do it on EVERY start up, or does it do it more on warm startups (The car was driven for a while, shut off for 30 minutes or so, then started back up)?

Exactly where I was going with my question.
            Probably valve stem seals.
Is the smoke white, but almost bluish?
Does it smell like burnt oil?

yeah. you should probably take care of that cause it will only get worse.

If it is the valve stem seals, no need to rush to get it fixed. What happens is when the car is cold the seals let a little oil leak by, but after warming up, the seals expand the the leak goes away. No real harm.

To take car of it you will need to get new valve stem seals - not a cheap repair at the shop.

It will only smoke a lot on warm startups because the oil is thinned out from being warm, it then is able to squeek by a seal and smoke. It burns oil all the time, but on a startup more oil is built up so it is very noticable.

You need new valve stem seals, its not the easiest repair.
You have to put air in the cylinders to hold the valves while you remove the valve springs and replace the seals.

The oil will very quickly start to buildup on the valves, heads, headers, etc. It can make a real problem. It will also foul o2 sensors.

Oil shouldnt be white smoke? Oil's blue or atleast with a blue tint like you said earlier.

Valve Seals should just give a puff/cloud and be done.

that sounds like maybe a possible oil leak, or power steering leak, i just fized the oil leak on my car but before that, i would crank it and white smoke would come out of the bottom
