Hello all, before I say much I will let you know what I have. It is an 86 Olds cutlass rwd with a 97 camaro 3800/auto drivetrain. It also had a 96 firebird drivetrain of the same combo a year or so and back. Here is my problem.....When I start the car it wont normally fire unless I give it a little throttle. Once it starts it runs fine. I have looked at everything, and I mean everything! I have been without a scan tool for a few months and the problem hasnt really bothered me enough to dig into it but I decided to invest a little more time and thought into the issue. I got my new scanner today and everything seems fine but my IAC at idle in park is 115 which is way too high, should be around 30-40. This explanes why I have to give it gas to get it running....but exact problem existed with the 96 drivetrain and pcm as well as the 97 drivetrain and pcm. All I can figure is air needs to come from somewhere else because I see no reason the same problem would happen on two entirely different setups. These are both stock engines never opened up and were pulled from good running cars. Has anyone else experienced this or is there something to the f-body that I dont have to get my iac count correct? Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks!
