• Q's For AZ

hey az, i know you know alot so i will give you the headsup and im hoping you can estimate the power i will be making.

    1995 3.8 ---> 4.1l zzp stroker kit

zzp stage 2 heads, gt3 camshaft, ported upper/lower intakes, ported throttle body, hypue retic pistons, harland sharp roller rockers(1.6 i think) 130# springs, slp cai, pacesetter headers to full 3", msd coil packs, taylor spiropro wires, computer tuned by pcmforless.com, built 4l60E transmission, 2700 stall torque converter.

this is the setup. can you, judging by, others cars tell me about waht i should run or what kind of power can be expected? any ballpark figure? if possible i would appreciate that, and a breakdown of where my power band is and what kind of compression ratio ill be running. thank you super mod ;)
    The confusion surrounds me
change is imminent
if I were they
we could be great

I guess about 290-300 at the crank, if you get about 10.5:1 compression ratio out of it. You should be able to see 240-260 at the wheels.

I can't tell you for sure what compression ratio you will get unless you can find out more about the pistons, head milling etc.

That motor will pull pretty hard all the way to 6000PRM. Pulling pretty good from around 4000 on up. It would still pull pretty good to 6500 but I would probably only rev it to 6000 for durability.

It will be a pretty cool NA motor. I am curious to see how it will come out too.

hey az, i was looking at the head/cam specs.. and they say power band at like.. 6800-7250 or something. you wouldnt suggest revving this high?
hmm.. i cant wait. that puts me at high 13's right?

No strokers do not like to be revved up much.
The peak powerband on a stock motor with those heads and cam would be that high, on a stroker it will probably be lower.

You should be able to hit 13s with an awesome tune, and a lot of practice.

              cam and spray.
That was on street tires with a 2.4 60'.
Got et streets to I could knock that 60' down to 1.9 or so and chase 12's, but I have been too busy with school etc.

i dont want to spray..... it thought this would be producing slightly more hp than 260.....

spraying with the zzp stroker kit is probably not a good idea anyway, the crank is just a reworked stock one so it is to weak to handle spray

the Holden stroker kit i beleive uses a forged crank if you wanted to check out one that is stronger, i don't know if anyone on this forum has one though, they are an austrillian company. I think the holden stroker is a 4.3L kit too so it would produce more power and have a wider band than the zzp
K&N air filter, Whisper air lid, magnaflow LT1 cat back, and magnaflow high flow cat, pacesetter headers, silverstars

more to come soon
but for now im out of money

ive looked into it. from their webpage it sounds like a nice stroker kit.
