So far I have raised my top speed limiter, gear/tires, fans 10 degrees cooler, raised rev. limiter to 6100 rpms, and adjusted some spots at idle up to 50-75 rpms more. Mostly at around 200 degrees to 235 degrees, so it would not lobe as much when idleing(due to the VS cam). I plan on going to the dyno this week or the next if I get the time. Is there anything else anyone can suggest before going to the dyno? Also can some of you post who got the software on the changes you have made so we could compare.

Hey, i have a 1996 v6 firebird. What hp tuner did you use on your car. I have heard that it is not possible to tune a 1996.
Thanks,

You need to put a 97' pcm in your car. The 97' pcm is a direct swap into your 96'. Then buy the hptuner software.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

Get a Wide Band O2 sensor. Then you can do 90% of your tuning on the road. With the soon to be released (god I hope its soon) WB02 interface, it will be even easier.
I have my spark tables and A/F ratio (using PE tables) right where I want them. I am working on the LTFT's but this is proving to be a real chalange. No one else is playing with this on the V6's so I am working mainly off info from the V8 guys (and even they can't figure it out). Hopefully I will get there.
I am ordering a cam next week and will have to start all over again. But it is all a learning process and I bet I can get the spark and A/F ratio dialed in in a day or two with all I have learned. Back to my first comment, the WBO2 sensor really gives me some peice of mind. Really want to avoid blowing the motor up. It is well worth the $300.
