  • Which cam of these?

    Ok im getting one of these cams, but i need help deciding. i want a lower powerband, like 1500-4500. i dont want to start making power way up there. this is the first cam
    Intake

    Valve Lift w/1.5 Rockers

    Lobe Seperation Angle: 112° LSA

    and heres the second

    this is gonna be a street driven 3.4, and i want good power for the street.
    1997 Camaro 15.3@91 with a 2.35 60ft-B&M Ripper, SLP Knob, SLP CAI, LT1 DS, EBC Pads. 1994 Camaro(Sadly Sold)-Hi flow cat, custom flowmaster american thunder cat back, KN FIPK, Accel wires, Plat plugs, 160 thermo, Fastchip, Pacesetters.

    They are both BIG cams, but the second one would be a little better for the street. It is the one I am running and I am very happy with it. Are you going to get a mild port & polish job done on the heads with the cam? If so, it will obviously bring out the power a lot more.

      im not gettin the heads port and polished right now, i am in the future, but funds are limited. how does teh car sound at idle? and what kind of power does it make, and what is the powerband?

        y did you use the term "mild" viper, should one only port mildly with that cam, or should they shave as much crap out as possible?

          You should get at least a mild job done if anything (at least smooth the runners) so that the air flows better. If you can though, shave the **** out of them and go to town.

          With the second cam, the car lopes a lot at idle. Be prepared to get an AFPR and some hotter spark plugs. Powerband is pretty high and very strong.
