  • camming a 3.4 liter

    hey guys...i'n pretty new to this site...anyways...i am swapping my old 3.4 liter for a newer nicer one for right now...and i was wondering if it would be possible to drop a cam in...cause i wanted to do it before the engine went in....is it possible? please post back..thanks

    Why would it not be possible?

      Yes it is possible. Do a search. Most would say go with a custom ground cam for the best results on the 3.4

            check out the cams at www.ftpp.net and www.rsmracing.com .

            anyone here know the specs of the rsmracing cam? it doesn't give much info. it just says it's designed for better midrange and top end and up to 18hp gain. anyone got one?

              dunno about the rsm cam.

              check www.supersixmotorsports.com they have a package for 3.4Ls

                another question....im hoping maybe to get a z28 maybe in the summer....so for now im gonna settle with the 6 which is fine for now...but im just trying to build up the horsepower....does anyone know how much a cam builds up...because my buddies are saying 50-80 which is good but i just wanna make sure

                  The RSM cam is a .422" lift, 204/214 @ .050" profile.

                  It does not have the 'bump' that allows the SFI to function.

                  I looked at it, but opted for the more aggressive Crane 272 grind.

                  BTW - don't just change a cam without attending to flowing the intake and if you have them off, the heads, and headers are very worthwhile as well.
