I am currently looking into rebuilding my motor to run alc, I'm a little sick of hearing about how the 3.4 is such a slow engine. It has been used for many years in F1, Nascar, and Indy, pumping 800+hp and running with red-lines of 14k+ rpm at 18-1 comp. ratios... I think I might take this car pure track. If anyone wants to do this, or knows some places to get the parts, piston heads ect. That would be a great help, being they are race parts, and very hard to find.

do some seaches in this section, forced induction, intake/exhaust, mod encyclodpedia, and this . That should get you started in the right direction, especially using the fwd heads/intake & rotating assy inthe 3.4 rwd block1978 Formula 461 in progress of being built

wait, your saying that they use GM 3.4L engines that they put in teh camaros and are making 800 HP with them??
I highly doubt that.
Now, maby them using a chevy 3.4L engine, but it would be TOTALLY different, its not like they go to the junkyard and pick up a 94 camaro and take the engine out of it.

A fully built 60* v6, maybe.... unlikely it was a 3.4L probably somethign like a 3.2ush area....
I have heard the 3.4L is bored out too much, for insane compression ratios...
next step you will need a custom stand alone fuel system or possibly just a crazy carb setup.
Because the stock computer will not be able to handle a high compression alcohol motor, there is NO tuning availible for the most part, if you do it some crazy custom job that will cost a fortune. And even if you do, building up for a 800hp motor will probably exceed the limitations of the stock computer.-Eric
2000 NBM V6 Camaro 5-speed T-top converted
14.467@95.45mph $0 in mods
The member formerly known as MustangEater8251

cylinder walls start getting thinner, and can't handle the pressure and crack I assume.
just I have read up on building alot of crazy 60* v6s and it seems the 3.4L is almost never used.
but ehh I am no expert, just going off of what I read up years and years ago, and just opinions I have come up with over the years looking at the 60* v6 scene.
either way look to spend just as much money as you put into your motor just into tuning, if you stay Fuel injected... Seems to be most people's biggest problem.-Eric
2000 NBM V6 Camaro 5-speed T-top converted
14.467@95.45mph $0 in mods
The member formerly known as MustangEater8251
