Yes you can't bore the engine too much, and I am very aware that a 3.4L V6 from gm that produces that kind of power if far from a L32 engine.. About the only part I will be able to keep if I went that far is the block, some of the race motors are cast iron.
Ya over boreing engines is a bad bad idea lol, I have known guys to do it, and its game over.
I know them alloy blocks have it, and some iron blocks have had them done (for nuber matching stuff) but can the 3.4 block be bored & sleeved enough to fit your needs?

I can, its hard work, and alot of breaking down stuff I do not understand, which is where the old timers come in handy. I know it has been done, I know it is done, I actually saw the other day a page I wish it wouldn't have blown my browser, cause I don't keep any history either, but a page where a guy was selling a Alcky 3.4 in a '93 camaro dyno sheets for 480hp n/a, and carb'd as most would guess. He was asking like $4,800 for the motor on a fresh rebuild. He destroyed the car in a race, so the motor and tranny were being sold off.
I don't know exactly what he did to accomplish it all, but I was looking for a few hours trying to find something that would give me a hint here, when I came across that.
Hmm now I have a new idea how about the Ferrari Enzo F1 edition motor and auto tranny. 3.5L V10 pushes out 890hp at 8,900rpm i think it was, and the automatic in it from start of disengage to complete engage of gears is less than 100ms for the shift time, out shift that baby! Ugh hot car if you got 1.4 million + to burn, they made like 50 of them a few years ago.
a while back i found a website that would convert engines to run alchy...i forget what it was tho.. one of my friends was buildin a truck pull engine and wanted to run alchy so i was hhelpin.. so theres stuff out there that could help you
