Hey i have a huge probeolm i have my car currently waitng for a cam / i have the cam from crane powermax 2030 part #254122 and the engine hsop said it will not work due to the cam sensor i have a 94 3.4 . Crane says yes it should work sorry if we gave you the wrong info but there's nothing we can do so now i payed 1,000 dollers to go back to stock. Will the cam sensor cause this car not to run. the cam crane sold me has no divisions for the cam sensor

Do you have a picture of the cam? I'm not sure where the cam pos sensor is on a 3.4 but on a 3.8 it's on the cam gear. Anyone know? I can't imagine the cam not working with with the position sensor.

fuel injection will not be sequential with no cam signal. at most you may get batch-fire and a ses light all the time. you'd lose as much as you'd gain though, since the pcm needs the cmp input to sync fuel injectors.
at worst it wouldn;t start. i'm pretty sure it would run, just all the fuel injectors on the same bank would fire at one time, like the old TPI.

Trust me, I have it in mine with no SES light, No power loss, and no other problems. I made to special modifications or anything else. Popped the old one out and the new one in.

I lose all warranty if put this cam in for there are no divisions for the cam sensor. You loose power in the long run with this cam. Crane's boss called me and said that yes this cam would cause problems in the long run and you might get lucky for a bit but don't expect it to last.

Stagen please be careful they cautioned me saying that this could potetnially be trouble and cause malfunctions in the long run the only difference of this cam against our stock is better on intake and exhaust lobe sep is only a few degree's apart

What warranty do you have on a 1994 car?

Also if it fact it is true in what he is telling you then they are false advertising on their site and have opened them up for potential litigation.

Who is it that you are talking to? Name?

Stagen either way .2 is not even close to waht you should opf gotten with this cam. It shoudl of knocked off a sec or so. You could of bought the jet chip for .2 off. But thats my opinon i'm just not happy with the fact the cam won't work right. it might work some but it will not perform to the specs as shown. How'd you get by the cam sensor Gm put in. I'm just more upset crane denies the sensor there and says i most have a different block or something. I have exactly 1 day to fix this problem or i have to go to stock again Hey one mroe thing i had the head slighty milled and bored over block instead of 3.62 it's now 3.64 what will this do. Stagen what can i expect with these new mods

Bored instead of 3.20 now 3.22, slightly milled heads, three angle valve job, port and polish

What CAM sensor and where is it? I do not know of one they are talking about.

To be honest with you I would not have any idea what you'd be looking at with the current mods and or work you have done.

I will tell you this, working for a rather large law firm and if what you are stating that Crane is claiming is true, i will not hesitate to go after them. I would just need to investigate more.

.2 is not too bad once you realise that you've done quite a bit already without going deep internal. You can only squeeze so much blood out of a turnip.

There is a cam sensor somewhere in the car. All i know is my engine rebuilder layedthe stock cam next to our Powermax 2030 cam and said that there was not a division for a cam sensor. Hey what can i do for the crane issue. What it boils down to is i payed for this product under the idea it would fit and found out it won;t and now they said well we can refund your money or regrind it. But i can;t wait to make it right anymore my job is suffering. Without a ride. Also they still claim there record show our cars did not have cam sensors till 97 what up with that now they want documentation claimin other wise

Who was wrong, Crane? They omit to this?

Humm, I'll take a re-ground one. I would like a more agressive one personally!

And don't take me wrong, I haven't be disagreeing with you but their statements. This CAM isn't new to the market and I'm wondering why it is just now coming up. There are other 3.4 owners out ther e that have used this CAM and are using it whether in F-Body or a transplant.
