    Has anyone done the a/c delete on a 3.4, if so what type of gains did you feel, and what was your overal empression of it.

    i did it on my 3.8l
    its not like the A/c is sucking that much
    power out of your crank (even when its on).
    If you spin it, it will spin freely (unless its gunked up).
    Its mainly for saving weight (I guess about 8 lbs?) on the front end.
    Another bonus is you might get a little more air intake (if you cut the bottom out of your airbox) and it Might keep your radiator a little cooler.

    You will need to get a shorter drive belt or get the A/c idler braket. Of course I recommend the shorter belt.

    Was it worth it? no

      belt was 685k6 iirc, fit tight too.

        Bypassing the pulley is one way to do it, but it does not leave the tensioner much room to work. The belt that you get needs to be nice a taught just putting it on without letting the tensioner on. If you get the AC Delete braket (Idler pulley) for the 3.4L V6, it will allow the tensioner to have a lot more surface area of the belt to add tension sooner.

          There is no power gain.

          At best, 22 lbs gone off nose
