• Found someone who can reprogram our PCM

Alright guys...this is what most of you have been waiting for.

I found a guy local in Michigan who can reprogram our ODBII PCMs... i forgot to ask him about the ODBI but i will let you know next weekend. I talked with him personally face to face and he is legit. He is very very intelligent and this is not BS.

Some examples of what he can do:
disable/change the rev limiter
disable/change the speed limiter
change your speedo to match your gear/tire size.
He can do anything else your heart desires.

This guy used to work with the team that designed the ODB II system. He is also a forced induction expert. He has the programmer that GM uses to program any ODBII pCM (again not sure about ODBI)
He basically said that if he wanted to, he could flash a 3.8 PCM into an LS1 PCM. He is that good at what he does. From what i understand Dealers do not have this programmer in their posession.

He is also the guy who designed the ATI kit for the S10 4.3L. He even redisigned the LS1 kit that ATI sells because he felt it could be designed better to give better performance with less stress to the engine.

If you call ATI for the kit for the S10- they will refer you to Bill at Mach Performance.

His normal charge is $500.00.
His Normal charger for 01-02 is $600.00

Yeah its a lil costly so don't send his chip when you get your gears changed and then when you get your tires changed...

I am going to work on trying to get a group discount. I don't know how much of a discount yet, but i am going to ask him once i know how many serious people we have.

I want SERIOUS REPLIES ONLY. to rcheria@hotmail.com for people who seriously have the money to do this. I also need a brief discription of what you will want. At this time i am GAUGING INTEREST ONLY.

I can't promise you a price nor a discount(this is not my decision to make). I can only try.

I have a SUpercharger Update in forced induction. please read it if you are interested.

Pleas no flames. I have put a lot of hard work into researching this out for you guys and unless i felt it was legit i would not post it.

THis is what you guys have been waiting for.

ALSO

Bill will be logging in and checking the board out. I would hate for him to see flames of disbelief and decide that there is not enough interest.

I know Bill. He was going to build my 4.3L for me... but he unfortunately never got a quote back to me after a couple calls and e-mails and then after I found out that I wasnt going to be able to pull a loan out and some othe reasons... I had to drop that idea and bought my 2002 Camaro.
Good guy, knows his chit. Hope he can help us out with an ATI kit. I was meaning to give him a call on it looks like you beat me to it.

His built and blown S10 Ext cab is amazing

So for $500 I can get just the gear change and also for the same $500 I can get everything else changed? Can he make a 97 PCM work in my 96 camaro? And then of course I'll still get all the things done I wish. All for $500?

Yes... get ALL your changes done at once for $500.00 (not 5.00 for each change) for pre 2001 cars.. he said that the 2001-2002 have 3x as many codes and it is a bit harder but he can do those too. I'll ask him about the different years

If we can work out a group deal for cheaper I might be in. If Superchips charges $350 then why pay more? If it's the same end product that we're getting. Unless he does more for that price. Fill us in on more details.

I thought superchips didn't do anything for our cars?

If they do, i'd like to know if they actually make changes to our code or if they trick the pcm. Bill was explaining to me that some of the programmers for PCM ... one for the LT1 or LS1 that is out there (not sure which) doesn't really change the code... instead it disables or enable sensors to get the desired results. Not sure if superchips works the same way. Any do any research on superchips? I will ask Bill exactly what he can do... to give me a list.

Thanks.

I think James is the only one that got their tuning. I'm wondering about his code also. Maybe he can shed some light on it when he get's back. It would be cool to have a datebase of the files for different stuff.

ok what i wanna know and i think what should be the BIG question is can he adjust our fuel curve and can he make it so our cars can run on bigger injectors i see that as our hold back right now the injector thing is what blew 12sec's engin ( and he had them reprogram his pcm so i dought they did anything with his fuel curve) and thats basicly what stefan is waiting for i think would be someone to reprogram the fuel curve and to make it so we can have bigger injectors (more air more gas or go booooom)

if he can do that then hell yea he would be the man

for injectors, if he can do what Ryan claims, is change the injector pulse rate, which wouldnt be too hard...if he can do the programming

Yeah, i just saw magnus' post. I'll tell ya one thing... i will be the guinea pig for you guys. i trust his intelligence. I will ask him all the questions you just gave me. IF he can do for the 3.8 what he has done with the S10... then i think its every penny i spend.

It would be nice to have done, when I have everything done to the car I want done. But not really something I should get now... Maybe in the not so distant future though ;)

I think that we need to work out a certain agreament with him first. Some kind of a written contract. For example, I need things changed now. But in the fall I might need injectors. Then again next spring I might need something else.

I would pay a certain amount, but I'd like to get 2 or 3 chances to change it. So I'll pay upfront and then I get 2 more free ones within a year. That sounds fair to me. He'll get his money upfront, and I'll get the adjustability for later. We all know that mail order tuning does not work. So for most of you not in the area it will take many tries and you may never get it to run correctly. I'll probably end up driving to Michigan and setting up a dyno day with him. That's for tuning. For simple changes, like speed limiter and rev limiter I need now I don't mind sending it in. But $500 for just those simple things is way too much. So $500 for 3 seperate changes I think is very fair. I'll get a year to get all my mods together from the initial time. I'm sure everyone here does their mods steps at a time. Right now I have a stock car so I don't need anything big. I would like minor details fixed though.

Swing that by him, see what he thinks. He can make alot of money here and he knows it. I'm sure everyone here would like that speed limiter removed. So either charge $100 for minor ones and $500 for real tuning or do that $500 for 3. Precision Industried does free stall for up to a year on their converters.

That's it.

I'll be sure to ask him when i see him this weeked. That idea did cross my mind just because of the mere fact that most of you guys are out of state.
