Hey i have a virbation at idle more so in gear than if it's out of gear, it's not the mounts and pretty sure it's nto the engine itself internal wise (i just had a rebuild) I think it's the harmonic balancer or the belt tensor. Also i do know for a fact my cat is rattling and bad would this cause a virbation. Someone help the dealership said torque converter, another said belt tensenor, and another said cat

I have the same problem with my 3.4L A4. At idle, when it gear, I get vibrations. I don't have to have the brakes applied for this to happen. As long as the car is still or only moving at the slow idle creep, the vibrations are there. As soon as the RPM's increase, even slightly, it disappears. Same happens with vehicle speed; any increase pretty much eliminates the vibrations, although this is probably due to the rpm change. If I put the car in nuetral or park, it goes away as well. I haven't found a solution yet, and would be open to ideas as well.

Have either of you change out your exhaust or is it still stock?94 Quasar Blue Z28<br /><a href=\"http://www.9t4z28.com\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.9t4z28.com</a><br /><a href=\"http://www.9t4z28.com/Dyno1.htm\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.9t4z28.com/Dyno1.htm</a>

Stagen -- It's interesting you bring that up, cause I can't say for sure, but my problems started around the time I put a V8 takeoff catback on. I have been wondering if the loss of back pressure could cause a problem will idle operation. Is that what you are thinking as well?
Once warm, the engine stays right at ~750rpm and, atleast by the tach, isn't varying at all. The vibration isn't severe, but some of the interior panels rattle much more than normal (gotta love the plastic on plastic design technique!). All maintenance has been done relatively recently; including plugs, wires, air filter, oil=filter, pcv, fuel filter, IAC cleaned, TB cleaned.

Chek to make sure your flexplate is tight if you were messing with the TC94 Quasar Blue Z28<br /><a href=\"http://www.9t4z28.com\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.9t4z28.com</a><br /><a href=\"http://www.9t4z28.com/Dyno1.htm\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.9t4z28.com/Dyno1.htm</a>

If you've changed out your exhaust and it only happens at idle lift the car a little (BE CAREFUL) and start it. let it run and see if any of your hangers are lose, if it's hitting the panhard bar os the likes. Just make sure everything it good and tight. I doubt it's back pressure.94 Quasar Blue Z28<br /><a href=\"http://www.9t4z28.com\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.9t4z28.com</a><br /><a href=\"http://www.9t4z28.com/Dyno1.htm\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.9t4z28.com/Dyno1.htm</a>
