i dont think so, but i know it wasnt lack of reprogramming. because we all had that problem. royce dynoed 200 rwhp but he was still in the 15s with the power pack installed. i dont remember exactly what the problem was, but i do know he wanted to sell his car shortly after the power pack was installed because he was unhappy. what ever happened to royce?

I hope to see more power pak people this year!!!!

Supersix took the time and money to invest in this and now we don't have many people getting it.

      I've already spoken with Tom

If I get it do I have to send my parts to them or do they just send me a power pack... Much like if you got a supercharger. Cuz if they use your parts and then grind them or whatever, its starting to get pricey.Oh and from reading ninos thread I would probaly tell ssm I wanted somthing very streetable.I mean I love are v6, but to render your car where you have a hard time just starting it up or worrying if your car is gonna just turn off just so you can acheive 300 rwhp some day just seems ridiculous.Honestly Ihope Im not offending anyone but I wouldnt do that to my car unless I was gonna be pushin like 500 rwhp or more.I only drive my car to and from the track so its not my daily driver. I got a pos bmw for that. Are there powerpacks/cams that will give me power without makin my car smoke, stall and sound like I got crazy proppeller under my hood?Or is this not the norm and ninos cam may just be too big? No offense Nino....

          no no no
my car is very streetable. and it sounds nice for a V6. its just i have had problems since installation. my cam back in the day did seem to be too agressive (theory wise), but it really isnt. nobody knew anything about my size cam when i got it, but it is very streetable.

the power pack has been out for a long time already. i knew about it back in 2001. had mine installed early 2002 and then all of a sudden interest died for some reason. it used to be all that was talked about on these message boards, now everybody talks about cams. i say we need to bombard tom with orders. i have talked to him on the phone and over email more times than i can count. and everytime he has been understanding and very helpful.

for you guys interested in the power pack i say get it. look what it did for magnus. it is a proven upgrade. if you wonder why not many other people respond to this thread is cause you have to realize not many people have the complete power pack. what maybe 5 at the most and how many of them are still on this board?

for the record my car is very streetable, i just had problems with the install.

I believe the only reason people dont have the powerpak is because of the steep pricing. I understand that 2 grand is what people have to pay because I have heard SSM does brilliant work, but the fact remains that 2 thousand is alot of money. Maybe one day I will fall into some money and live up to my board name

riley, actually 2 grand is not a lot of money. it might seem a lot to many on this board, but i have met some LS1 owners that 2 grand wouldnt even rattle them. i am talking about $5000 turbos, $3000-$4000 superchargers, 383 stroker builds that cost i dont know how much. the san antonio f body association has so much money spent into it, its ungodly.
but i do wish tom at SSM best of luck and i have to say his prices are right where they should be.

oh dont get me wrong, I agree his prices are just about right. Im just saying that "people like me" i guess you can call us cheap a$$es, dont have 2 grand lying around. But yeah, the SSM powerpak sounds tempting. Hopefully this summer or something when I start working full time at 11 dollars an hour I can save up.

nino, that is basically the cam i have, wouldnt your peak power be above your rev limiter? so your actually not able to take advantage of the big cam with the stock rev limiter, i bet if you had a bigger verter and pcm programming you would definately get great numbers.

                      Magnus,
how much less of a gain would you see with these parts vs all the parts.

How much cheaper would it be?

i don't think the P&P intakes are worth much at all.. perhaps a couple rwhp that's it.

The big gains come from heads/cam. The biggest gain comes from the cam alone.

when modding a car, this is the worst question that can ever be asked.

now that i think about it i went to a guy, a regular guy to install my power pack. i trusted the guy cause i have seen his cars and they are nice, and the fact that he had a gn motor in his firebird was really the deciding factor. i went to a regular shop instead of performance shop trying to save money- trying to see what was cheaper. maybe my problems would have never happened if i had spent a little bit more money.

and not putting magnus down, i believe magnus 100%, but i know tom does all kind of research and studying before he sells something. that is why i got everything, yeah it might be minimal, but it was all part of toms plan, so it has to be worth something.

my point is: if price is an issue, thats the wrong issue.

Tom is definately the man. A great guy with great customer service.

Him and I disagree on one issue though, he pushes for the complete power pack where as I think the price is too high and scares off a lot of customers.

I suggest that he offer a heads/cam/valvespring pack instead at a cheaper cost. I'm sure he would get much more business but it's his business to run.

People see the price tag and think that's it.. it's all or nothign. People dont' read and don't even bother to call up tom. They just figure they have to wait or HAVE to spend 2 grand..

                            That really bothers me.

NOBODY said you can't just order heads and cam and valve springs from SSM. I don't know where people got the ridiculus idea that you need the entire package.

I wish people would just do more heads/cam/valvespring installs.. or even just a cam!!! we need more cam'd cars.

we need more race cars, more drag cars..
we need more cars in the 13's NA and more cars in the 12's on power adder..

We're slacking, what's the hold up guys? Come on lets get to it!!!!

Never the the less that just really hyped me up yo get this thing...But still one unawnserd question that is really important to me. Dp you have to send your parts to ssm or do they just send you a kit much like if you ordered a supercharger?

It's core based.. You pay extra $$$ on the initial purchase but get that $$$ back when you send your original parts back.

I sent my original heads back to tom. They went 12.3 on nitrous and 14.0 NA, i wonder who has them now.
