What all is needed I do know i need a different cam and solid lifters but what else is needed. I hear something about adjusting the rockers. do our rockers allow for adjustment. What else is needed and what is to gain from it. I hear alot about solid roller setups on ls1's makin some real power

It is extremely costly and a hell of alot of work.
Go to easternfbody.com A few of those guys have solid roller set-ups making bad *** power.

a solid roller will make WAY more power than any other type of cam...but if you dont have shaft rockers you will have to set valves very often, you can buy shaft rockers for LS1's from T&D Machine so they can set them once and not worry about them, but i dont think there are any for the 3.8...you can call my dad and get him to talk to T&D and see if the shaft rockers from the Race buick v6 heads will fit the 3.8, he is one of two dealers in Texas of T&D Machine products, its Abbott Racing Heads and the number is 915-558-2841...his name is Kenneth...

You also need to machine the block in the lifter area to clearance for the pieces that connect the lifters together (can't remember what these are called)
I have a bud with a 396 solid roller LT1 and have been talking to him about the setup.
