removing crank pully..need help asap..

this is second day of my cam install.. i got all the valvetrain taken apart..lifters rods, etc.. i can't remove the crank pully. i got the bolt out, and i have a crank pully puller but it's not coming.. what am i missing. i need a very detailed step by step procedure.. i have a 97 so the pully is different that the 98+
