• SOUND CLIP OF NEW COMPCAM!

Hey what up everyone. I started to install my cam. For those who dont know specs as follows:

218/218
.528/.528
113lsa
110ic

Should be a nice cam and hopefully thump pretty hard. I dont have a lot of time to do it right now so It will be a long process. I am trying to dedicate about 1 hour per day during the work week and then finish up on Sunday which is my day off. Hopefully I will have it on the road sunday. I HOPE. Nothing goes as planned. But you never know.

Tonight I removed the upper intake manifold, Fuel rail, alternator, coil packs and all that stuff.

I will keep everyone posted as I progress.

Nope, 224 I thought would be too big. I guess you could say I have a little cam syndrome. After puttin in this crower regrind of 196/196 and .496 lift. It didnt work. I didnt want it to happen again so I went big. I will get you guys a sound clip when its all done. Im headin out to the garage right now to work on it.

Tom at supersix was suggesting I should get a cam with those sorts of specs for my 3.4L .I think I might have a winner if the install goes well for you.

BTW, What sorta power would a cam like that give you ?? Low end power ? Top end power ? or both?
If you could tell me alittle about it I would really appreciate it . thanks

Well the cam in the 3.4 is alot different. So the specs on my cam will make different gains in my 3.8 then it would in your 3.4. I dont even think there comparable.

Magnus, I hope it idles too.

Lets talk pushrods

I have 2 sets of very nice pushrods. I have some CROWER 7.050 in length and 1 piece chromoly design. I also have a set of TRICKFLOW 7.005 in length and also chromoly 1 piece design. At the time I bought the Trickflows I got the closest I could find to the stock length rod. If I remember right the stock length is 7.025 correct? So should I go shorter with the trick flow's or longer with the crowers?

I had to use a air gun to get those torx screws in & out. B/c I stripped one using a normal wrench.

haha, I had to use like a 6 ft breaker bar on the crank bolt.
