since your post count & registered date are all fudged up, can we assume you did a search on it yet?

Yes, it can fit. How you deal w/the distributor is up to you: cut in the back, or remote belt drive in front.

edit: and you can always edit your posts to add something later ;) ;)

so ur sayign it will fit but i will have to cut itno the firewall for the distributer?
also i believe img iogn to have to change the front suspension, but what about the rear? also im asuming i can use stock fuel system? what about manual or electric choke carb, havent bought one yet, wasnt sure which to get for application.

I've also been researching this type of swap. So far I've found a k-member to accomodate the engine (BMR). As far as the distributor a crab type would work just fine with out messing with the firewall. The things I'm most worried about are the brakes, and driveshaft length once I change the tranny too.

so i take it this is the k member i need.

PART# KM005 Tubular K-member for traditional small block Chevrolet and Bigblock Chevrolet. For use with standard F-Body power rack. $439.95

now i still got trans question, can i use a 4L60E Or the TH350 ive got in the 77 cause thats in good shape still.

I prefer auto choke carb. Also Rottenchester, because once it's tuned, it stayts that way. Unlike Holley continuously adjustable crap. Speed Demon carbs may be the best of both though. For the tranny, build up the TH350, it will be cheaper than building up a V8 4L60E,.....or maybe see if a 4L80E will hook up. TH350 you loose overdrive though, but that also depends onyour intent for the car itself.

ALso need fpr to duce that fuel pressure big time.

alright. now i got a few more questions. but so far so good. how hard is it giogn to be to pull the trans off of the 77 and the trans and motor can both come out at the same time witht he 93 correct? so that means that i can just drop the trans and motor hooked up into the 93 when im ready? or do i have to do it one at a time. and what all am i giong to need. i dont have what magnus had available to him. so i need ideas. that are cheap i dont have much cash at the moment. right now ive got a 4 grand every 6month insurance payment. for my truck. so what little i ahve is saved for this project. plus i start a new job next monday. thatslike a grand a month. after 3 months it willb el ike 1500 but yeah how much is this whole conversion going to cost roughly and how long will it take to do it all? right now im runnin a tight budget. im thinking about asking some small local businesses to sponsor the vehicle. its going tob e a street/strip vehicle.

I've had to drop the T-10 out of my 77T/A a couple times for clutches. Real easy. IF you can, remove teh old motor & tranny as one peice & put in new car as one. From what I've seen, it's easiest to remove/install motor & tranny in 4th gens as 1 piece assymbly from underneath (not saying it caint be done from above though)

yeah but some how i would need fork lift. and a garage. cant do in driveway. plus im parting out that 77 and i dont wantt he motor. i want the starter and alternator off the motor cause they are new and thats it. the rest is up for grabs. so i should just do it like magnus did then? and just lift it cause that looked a heck of alot easier. due to how far back the motor sits. about how heavy is the trans?
i can also be contacted on Aim. for one on one discussion or group talk. if its easier. but i work tonight from 5-2 so tomoro im free. jowas03

ok guyz i kno im getting anoying. but what do i do with the computer. keep it scrap it?. and how much would it cost to beef up a 4L60E tranny. i can get one used and rebuilt for 900 from local shop. but i was wondering about performance rebuild kit for it or something. how much to have that done? cause im goign to need it. i think im just gunna go with the 4L60E cause i want a four speed over the three speed. due to better gas milage and shift points. so if u guys are willing to put ur two cents in that would be great.

you totally lost me now. Let me know if this is right:

Keep the chebby 350, get used V8 4L60E to bolt up to it. Scrap the PCM since you won't need it to run the engine?
For the 4l60E how will you control shifting if not via manually {I plead ignorance if this is not true)?

true, the new transmissions are computer controlled, im thinking stay with the TH350 or go aftermarket.
