Why would building a 3.4 be a waste of time?
'94firebirdv6 where would you buy heads for a 3.4, do you mean new as in stock from gm or aftermarket?\'85 Z28, T-tops new LG4 and TH700
\'85 3.4L 5-speed
mods: http://www.cardomain.com/id/oil_pan_4 the nitrous exhaust O2 safety, pg 3.
Areo space materal engineer wantabe

THIS IS A 98 COBRA. No torque, not a lot of hp, and fairly heavy. My friends mostly stock LT1 can beat them. Do what ever floats your boat. A turbo 3.4 will have no problem beating either of those cars. A V8 might be the cheaper route is all.Turbocharged and intercooled.
17psi(oops), stock fuel pump, no FMU
http://www.cardomain.com/id/phoenix64
Video: ftp://ftp.pfabrication.com Assorted car ****: TurboCamaroFull.

theres alot of places that sell heads for a 3.4... don't go the V8 engine swap way. thats the easy way out, why not have something you put some thought into, theres more pride in taking a 6 and beating a 8. caus anyone can take an 8 and put some exhaust and an intake on it...
its your car, so what ever way you wanna do it is cool.\'94 Firebird, 3.4 M5.
Arctic white w/ red anniversary stripe. ASP underdrive pulley set, Magnaflow 2.5\" stainless catback, CAT, Pacesetters, K&N FIPK2, 1000 watt stereo system capped 1F, Eagle Alloys 16\" 077\'s, 180 Deg. Thermo.

I had a 3rd gen, I priced out both routes over and over. v8 route was easiest... but if you have the 3.4L may want to consider it...
A turbo 3.4L will be bad *** but a v8 will be lightyears easeir and cheaper.
I was preping for a v8 swap but ran out of money, and sold the car before I moved up to college.
Good luck with what you do.

If you do it your self you can get a turbo in your car for cheap.
So far with the added cost of TT's it looks like it will take $1400 to get the TT's in the car and runing.
It will take more $$$ to get nice stuff like an MSD ignition and a hi vol fuel pump, boost activated eletronic cutouts, inter cooler water squerters.
For $1400 I can be runing some inter cooled boost.
All that is left is I need to model the turbo to the engine and take some pic's and mesurements to build turbo headers.
That $1400 included turbos, down pipe, cam, valve springs, tool to recut spring seat and valve guide, porting tools, Al retainers, valve locks, used injectors, AN hoses all around, cool little fuel filter, fuel psi gauges, ajustable fuel psi reg, boost gauge, extra gauge to nail down pressure drops and more.
I dont rember if the 1400 included the torxen LSD or not.
Just look at the site.
I have a spred sheet to keep track of all the $ I spend.
And how much did cost to swap a V8 and 5 or 6 speed trans that can handle the power and all the mounts, springs, struts all the little things that get over looked and add up?\'85 Z28, T-tops new LG4 and TH700
\'85 3.4L 5-speed
mods: http://www.cardomain.com/id/oil_pan_4 the nitrous exhaust O2 safety, pg 3.
Areo space materal engineer wantabe

It is quite pricey to swap a V8 into a V6 model car. Yeah, V8's are easy to build, but everyone's got one. Getting spanked by a V6 while you're cruising in your built up Ls1 is priceless, worth more than every V8 swap possible.MODS:
3.4,Crower cam, K-motion valvesprings, Heddman Longtubes, BBK AFPR, Accel Coil, 36mm/23mm Sways, Boxed LCAs/Panhard bar, Mutant Nitrous wet kit, Mr. Gasket Cutout, 10.02 1/8 mile at 67.2 mph UNTUNNED no spray
