****I put this in this forum because it deals mostly with the PCM. however, if mods feel the need to move it because of the other material in here, please feel free to do so. I'm lost and need all the help i can get****

first off, electronic throttle control absolutely sucks. maybe someone in here can help me out with this.
my friend and i went and took autotap out to look at his misfire problem. sure enough he had it. so we left the settings the same when we did mine, and sure enough, misfire on cyl. 1 and 3. wires are burnt on engine mount. bracket.

anyway, onto the real problem...atap only shows 96.5% throttle when i put the pedal on the floor. we physically moved the butterfly and got 100%, but couldn't get the pedal to do so. is that faulty in the computer, or what exactly could that be? i've done everything as far as pcm reset except for flat out disconnecting the battery cable.

I am also getting nasty high levels of knock retard, low rpm/high gear combination..examples are 40ish mph in 4h gear, 60ish mph in 5th gear, put the pedal down some, and knock retard kciked in. I'm thinking it's spark knock possibly from the melted wire arcing to the mounting bracket that it's so convieniently leaning on from the factory...

    Throttle body bumb stop mod

I brought this topic up a while ago, but no one was interested. The mod is basicaly you grind down the TB bumb stop until the throttle blade can turn a full 90 degrees.

Your problem might just be that your throttle cable is too long.

2000s have ETC, or ELECTRONIC throttle control.

no throttle cable. it's not drive by cable, it's drive by wire.

sorry man, didn't really look at your board name when i replied.

Are you sure there's nothing obstructing the gas pedal from going all the way down? That's about the only thing i could think of for ETC.

Drew, I think that the TPS could be wrong or the computer could be messed up. It is possible that the peddle isnt going all the way down...but thats inlikely because we were moving the Throttle blade with our hands for a while and it still gave the same results Id try replacing that sensor and see what happens.

WHen you use the pedal to go WOT, how many degrees do you think the blade is short of opening up to its full position?
