It's easier than you think, and I believe Magnus would even do it for you for $$$.
You got me excited there for a second because I've been to this guys site, and he seems to know what he's doing. But Ill. is a ways from Ct. Know anybody on this sight that lives near Ct. who might help/do it?

LS-1 swaps into our cars usually are around 5K depending on the cost of the parts, ie engine, tranny, cross member, guage pod, fuel system, wiring harnesses etc. Most of the wiring in the car must be redone. It's a lot of work. But the going rate around here is $1500 to $2000 labor on the swap.

Would i need a trans for a swap? I got 1994 Camaro 3.4L Came from factory with Z28 suspension under it(low in front jacked up in back). My car has a 4L60E Trans. Isnt that what LS1s hook up to in z28s? Corvettes also use 4L60E?

The bell housing for the V8 and V6 transmissions is different. The C5's use a rear transaxle.
