  • Clicking noise from Brake Master Cylinder, ABS INOP, LOW TRACTION, BRAKE Light!!!

Its the thing in front of the cold air intake on 97 Cars.

That little metal box thing. It started right after I installed a SLP Fan Switch, Hypertech 160º stat. I took the switch back off, and it stopped doing it.

So then I thought I would hook it back up and low and behold it starts back to the clicking and lights flashing, but then I took it back off and it does it without it on now. If I hit the brakes the lights go off, except for the ABS INOP and when I go over a bump the lights for LOW TRAC and BRAKE pop up instantaiously and go back off.

You installed that fan switch wrong. I'm not familiar with the SLP unit, does it plug in or tap in? Something is getting grounded / etc very very incorrectly. You could also be hearing the relays / boxes and not the ABS stuff.

Everything was installed correctly. There not much to screw up. Just plug the male into the female and the other male to the female.

If Im hearing the relay stuff then why is the ABS and Brake and Traction light on?

I had these same symptoms (minus the clicking sound) after pulling a HUGE burnout.

Make sure all your ground wires are solid.

Whats the name of the metal box? What is it? Its connected to the Slave Cylinder.

I grounded the wire to the same post that the engine is grounded to.

All I did was remove the egr tube from the manifold, remove two bolts from the t-stat housing, remove the tstat, then put the 160º stat in and put it all back together.

Then disconnect the 10 pin connectors and connect the slp fan switch back in and then it started doing this.

The t-stat would have nothing to do with brakes or suspension, however some of the electrical stuff would.

            I just dont get this.

Im going to call up SLP tommarow and get some info.

He may be right.. sometimes it is the simple things that we overlook. I thought i was having major clutch issues and was assuming major repair and then checked my fluids... a bit low. Refilled and bam no more issues.
