I'm semi-happy with my SSM stage 2 heads. The heads are awesome, but I say "semi" because I spent 800 bucks for the best ones available and 6 months later they're crap compared to the new stuff. :(

Abbott seems great from what I've heard.

I think either way you go is a great choice. It may just boil down to whoever is cheaper.

Because they weren't out then. They only recently became available. I had no way of knowing they were coming out. And that's my point.

Wish we had flow numbers on the SSM stage 3 heads so we could compare.

ive heard lots of good things about abbott and only marginal things about ssm so i plan on going with abbott whenever i have money again.

SSM makes a great head and i had them on my last v6. But if i were to build another V6 i think i would use abbott. Remember there is a board member making close to 280RWHP with his abbott heads and a few other mods. Thats NA mind you so they have to be some good flowing heads.

BUT for the people who say numbers dont lie i say that right look at the flow.

For the $1150 do the SSM heads come ready to bolt on and go (with the springs, retainers, etc. that the Abbott heads come with)? I couldnt really tell from the SSM website. If not, that will add a few hundred, boosting the price closer to Abbott.

What makes a head fancy though? How shiny it is or how well it performs? The pictures on the site don't do them justice. The camera was a cheapo. If Goldenphoenix or carmelcarswholesale will chime in they'll probably tell you that.
