for 1150 they are ready to bolt on period no waiting. and what make a fancy head to me are type of valves used, size of valves, retainer material, lock material, valvspring stiffness, and how the porting is done. wheather or not it is shiny doesnt matter to me. stage 3 from ssm have better flow numbers so if i ever decide to run a turboed setup id be ready.

I've had the complete Abbott Racing package...heads, cam and manifolds installed for over a month and we just started tweaking a bit and are at 248.9 rwhp and 246.5 torque on a dynojet chassis dyno..I still haven't sent the computer off to Texas Speed since their last tune and expect even more horsepower and torque....the key to the Abbott package is driveability....the package is designed for power under the curve all the way from 3500 rpm to over 6000 (that's where our rev limite cuts out but we'll be deleting that to see what happens...the car has 3.73 gears and it just pulls and pulls)....I have not tried SSM products but as an Abbott customer I can firmly state that I am extremely satisfied with the quality of product (I'm 57 and have been racing since I was 16 and have used them all over the years..mondello, vhs, traco) and would eagerly buy from them again...not only was the product of the highest quality..parts and workmanship..but the customer service was so good I wish my own company could achieve that level of customer service and satisfaction (and, no, I'm not related, got no discounts and get no cuts of future sales...I'm just passing on a positive experience)...so, bottom line...based on my experience...sales, service, product, results I can 100% recommend you purchase from Abbott (and listen to what they have to say regarding cam and head for your use)...I got the full bore money is no object set and they sure make this hot rod a great street car..more fun than my Z28....for a significant purchase I again recommend you purchase from Abbott based on my experience...Richard

Doggone work keeps getting in the way of fun times....the 2000 up cast iron "tubular" exhaust are very effective (though I'm sure real headers would add another 10-15 hp) and we've opened them up a bit and heat coated them...one item we've worked with is the Y pipe and have had a local race shop build us a mandral bent custom y pipe and we're running a high flow Random Tech cat and 3" exhaust (Texas Speed's system)...intake is also given special attention with a CAI and Whisper lid..all in all we've just tried to pay attention to details but the Abbott package is "just right" and we've got way more hp and torque than I ever hoped for...nowhere near your numbers but if Jason at Texas Speed can give us a computer upgrade for a few more hp (which he always manages to do) I'll be extremely happy..Richard

Hey carmelcarswholesale,
Since you are in California too, how has the Smog nazi's been? Car pass, or you got a while before you need it checked again?<a href=\"http://members.cox.net/95batmobile/d86f.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">Sinister Six</a> <br /><b><a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/id/c_o_jones\" target=\"_blank\">Cardomain</a></b><br />--This doesn\'t change the fact that I am ~The Guru~ who still kicks puppies...
