Pardon me if this is the wrong forum. I want the definitive guide / etc. from the folks who've done it. Sure, I can just unbolt everything in site. But ... What's the new belt length / part #? What do I need to retain to have HV(!AC). Anyone encounter problems with defrosting now?

I'm doing this for Formulao96's turbo kit.

    I'm thinking --
    !condensor, tubing, wires, etc.
    !compressor, tubing, wires, bracket, etc
    short belt
    !canister thingy

Now, I'd like to keep this as reversible as possible -- so, no, I don't wnat to bend and snap lines -- i'd like to unbolt them. And I know that losing the refridgerant is inevitable, but is there anyway / reason to capture / dispose of it properly?

    Thanks again,
    -Rob

Be careful unbolting everything and you should be able to put it back on if you ever decide to. You may have to change some ductwork, but you'll know that as you take it apart. The only other thing I would be concerned with is how your HVAC controls will work since they expect to find something connected up at the other end. You should be able to get the correct belt by just buying the one that is listed for your year for a non-AC car. As far as venting the coolant, technically you are supposed to have it done at a shop so that it isn't vented to the air. If you do it yourself, be real careful, it's a good way to freeze body parts. Good luck and let us know how it all comes out.

        Hey Rob,
I wouldn't mind checking that out that turbo as well, drop me a line.

No advice on the AC, just make sure that you take a lot of pictures so that you aren't just going on your memory when putting it back together.I don't think that your defrost will be as effective, but it should still work.

BTW, I think this is the right forum, the guys in the other forums wouldn't know anything about this.
