for our PCM to complete the EVAP diagnostics ?????

I made the mistake of clearing the codes last Friday before trying for emissions test and inspection on Saturday. Of course I forgot about the service readiness flags also being reset.

I've only put about 425 miles on the car since then, and am "guesstimating" about 4 drive cycles before tonight. Every other on-board diagnostic has completed except the EVAP tests. I put two more drive cycles on it tonight, and STILL have an "incomplete" for the readiness indicator on the EVAP tests.

I haven't driven it much this week ... been driving the TA, but wanted to complete the emissions tests tomorrow.

Anybody have a clue as to how many driving cycles are required ? Is there a "mileage since last code clear" requirement that I'm unaware of ?

I was unaware that when you clear DTC's/MIL that it resets the tests... I really don't think it does... ???

When I went in for emissions with my car, I was clearing codes every few minutes until it was my turn to drive on up.. then I quickly unplugged the autotap and shoved it in the back. I had no problem.

Did you have any emissions related codes set before you cleared yours ?

When I took mine in after clearing the codes last Friday nite (TWC low efficiency code), all of the non-continuously monitored tests came up "NOT READY" on the inspection station OBD2 computer test setup ...

The literature that I've read seems to indicate that the OBD2 system was designed this way to prevent just what I tried to do ... clear the codes just before a test ....

I suppose we could use the autotap to look at the test status before and after a code clear, except that I can't right now, until I get the #$%%^&* thing to pass emissions !!
