• i want a new cam

i'd like to get a new cam that i can use on my car without getting my pcm reprogrammed or anything and i'd also like it not to kill my gas mileage anyone of ya'll know a good company to get a cam from or know a good cam that would be good for me. i'm looking to gain another ~30hp or so. heh, is this a long shot?

www.zzperformance.com has a pair of comp cams that work well. one may set off the ses light and the other won't, supposedly.

so the vs cam and kit is about $400 total, and then how hard is it to install it yourself? i looked on magnus's website at some pics and it doesn't look THAT tough...but, i'm sure it's pretty dificult. the 40-50 hp gain is only with the supercharged 3800 though, right? it would be a considerable bit less on an unsupercharged 3800, right?

I would expect gains more around 25hp.

so how much does a cam install run? I haven't done any mods to my car yet, and I know intake and exhaust usually take priority. Is it a good idea to start with this, since it seems to have a more tangible power increase?

Also, I am with Only4U in that I don't want gas mileage to be negatively affected. With the same driving style, what would be the effect of this new cam?
