For anyone who hasn't heard of this cam:
"The Competition cams VS cam was designed for use with totally stock heads. Stock springs, keepers, retainer, lifters and pushrods are recommended.
This cam is very popular as it produces the gains of the 'big' cams without the risks. In stock form the Series II 3800 heads stop flowing better with lifts over .500, in fact they actually flow a little worse! This means that using lifts over .500 with stock heads doesn't help performance it only hurts reliability.
The VS cam uses a tight base on the exhaust lobe and comp's steepest ramp rate to keep the computer happy. This cam does not set the P0300 code and can be installed on a lightly mod'd 3800 all the way to radical. It works very well with an intercooler and doesn't bleed off as much boost as some of the other cams making it an excellent choice for use with a small blower like the M90.
Look for gains of 40-50 hp depending on your car's current configuration."

Okay, hereis my question: This sounds really to good to be true. 40-50 hp gains with no extra tunning involved, this is very nice. Has anyone bought this cam for their 3800 Series II?? I'm assuming it works fine for a firebird since it does have the same engine a GTP has... Someone fill me in, this sounds like an awsome deal. It only $299. 40-50 Hp for $299, damn you can't beat that :D
