  • Nitrous Cam

I posted this in NITROUS already and 12secondv6 said I might get more insight here, so here it goes

I did a search and couldn't find anyone that is spraying a shot anywhere as large as I'm going too so here it is, I'm planning on doing a full forged internal "built proof" rebuild, the best of everything and planning on a 150-200 shot direct port and was curious about a nitrous cam, I know a nitrous friendly cam comes into play with that big of a shot. So what specs do I need or who can I call and set up a custom grind with, this will be a track only car so I want to go drastic as I can go with that kind of shot, I want this thing to be a BEAST!!!
I want as BIG of a cam as I can get with this large of a shot, streetabilty matters very little, as long is it can idle without dying

        He has a 3.4L V6, you have a 3.8L V6...wouldn't work.

You can get a custom grind for a decent price. You should get the flow numbers from your heads when you P&P them and then create a cam profile based on that. It IS possible to go with a big cam and get less power. You want to match the head flow to the cam profile for best power results.

I am pretty sure that the .320"/.325" lift are lobe specs. They equate to a .512"/.520" valve lift with a 1.6:1 rocker arm.

I think the cam I have for sale is a perfectly big daily driver nitrous cam.

                    206/212 .512"/.520" 114lsa @ 1.6

I didnt mean to get into a pissing contest. I was just stating my specs. I have the cam for sale and now I know he has 3.4 not a 3.8

The cam is a custom grind Comp Cam.

Mine is a .496"/.496", 228*/228*, 110LSA. It idles very rough, but performs great. You should really base your thoughts on the head flow data.

thats what I am going to do when I get the heads done. that seems to be the general concenses to match the cam to the head flow numbers.
